Merit has been serving the Seattle area since 1992.

The company began in Spokane, quickly expanding to Portland in 1983, and later on Seattle. The Seattle branch serves all commercial project types.​

In Seattle, Merit works with the Construction Industry Training Council of Washington's (CITC) apprenticeship program.
